Looking for a second shooter for the 2024/25 wedding season?
Hey there! My name’s Emilie and I’m a photographer based in Warwickshire. I specialise in portraits and promo materials for musicians, and I also shoot weddings for laid-back couples who want candid, documentary coverage of their big day.
As much as I enjoy shooting weddings on my own, I also love second shooting for other photographers because a) team work makes the dream work and b) it’s always lovely to connect with fellow photographers and not always be flying solo.
Here’s the lowdown:
I’ve been running my photography business for close to 8 years now.
I’m one of those “I would rather be an hour early than 10 minutes late” kind of people — for better and for worse. 🫠
I’m not looking to second shoot to build my portfolio — I’m here to assist wedding photographers who need an extra pair of hands (+ a couple extra cameras) and help them capture happy memories for their couples.
I won’t be following you around all day and getting the same shots over your shoulder. My goal is to find alternate angles and shots and to get the candids you cannot get because you’re busy elsewhere.
Bonus: I’ve shot gigs in some pretty dark and dingy venues over the years, so poor lighting conditions do not phase me. 🫣
Let’s get straight to the point.

I live in Coleshill on the outskirts of Birmingham and have my own car so I’m happy to travel. :)

I primarily shoot on Sony cameras: a A7IV and an A7Rii. I also own a Fujifilm X100v which I originally meant to use as a personal and BTS camera, but I find myself reaching for it for candids and dance floor photos more and more.
I shoot on prime lenses: 24, 50 and 85mm.

Yep! I use a Godox V860II-S which I use for weddings, events and portrait work. I also have a couple of wireless triggers for it so it can be used with both my Sony and Fuji gear.

Yes.

Absolutely, as long as we have a chat about it ahead of the day so I know what to prioritise, and when!

In whatever way works best for you! Some lead photographers hand me their own SD cards to shoot on and I give them back at the end of the evening; others let me shoot on my own cards, which I hand over to them before I leave and they send them back in the post once they’ve backed them up.

I’ve learnt not to overshoot but honestly, it varies from wedding to wedding.
As a lead photographer, I tend to shoot between 1800 and 3000 images for a full day coverage.
As a second, it tends to be anywhere between 1200 to 2000 images. I’m usually mindful of how much I shoot so you don’t end up with a boatload of images to cull, but if you tell me to be trigger happy, I am very happy to oblige. 😇
